President
Steffan began his career at Argo Group, a Lloyd’s of London underwriting syndicate, before joining the real estate finance team at Bank of London and The Middle East (BLME). There, he provided investment and development funding for commercial and residential properties. He later joined Pluto Finance, managing residential development transactions and launching new lending vehicles.
Steffan established the lending division at CapitalRise before moving to Beaufort Capital in 2018. A graduate of the University of Bath with a BSc in Mathematics and Physics, Steffan also holds the Islamic Finance Qualification and is progressing towards the CFA designation.
In the summer, Steffan enjoys playing golf and tennis, while winters see him hitting the slopes. He is also a food enthusiast who loves to travel.

Vice President
Neil is the Head of Private Credit and Commercial Real Estate Lending at abrdn. Since joining the firm in 2013, he has played a pivotal role in establishing the Commercial Real Estate Lending platform and now oversees abrdn’s Private Credit division, which includes infrastructure debt, corporate debt, and fund financing. With over 30 years of experience in the lending industry, Neil began his career at NatWest and held senior roles at several international banks, including Deutsche Pfandbriefbank, where he managed their Continental European loan book. Neil’s expertise lies in originating and restructuring private credit across the UK and Europe, fostering long-term borrower relationships. Neil is the Global Co-Chair of abrdn’s Balance Network, promoting inclusivity and gender equality as part of the company’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion framework. In his free time, Neil enjoys family time, travelling, and playing golf.

Board Member
Catherine is Head of Commercial Real Estate Loan Syndicate at Lloyds Bank, focusing on the structuring, underwriting, and distribution of debt in the loan market. She works across all real estate asset classes and the capital stack, including senior, junior, and whole-loan financings.
With 16 years of corporate banking experience at Lloyds, Catherine brings a wealth of expertise to her role. Her deep knowledge of various asset classes makes her a valuable contributor to the industry.
Outside of work, Catherine is a mum and passionate foodie who enjoys travelling and socialising with friends.

Board Member
Nigel is an experienced property and banking professional with a career spanning over 37 years. He qualified as a Chartered Surveyor while at Hillier Parker (now CBRE) before transitioning to asset management within a major insurance institution. He later spent more than two decades with various banks, most recently as Head of Underwriting for International Clients at Deutsche Pfandbrief Bank, specialising in property markets and lending across the UK and Europe.
Nigel is also Treasurer of an educational charity supporting a school in Kenya and a Fellow of the RSA.
In his spare time, Nigel enjoys visiting art exhibitions, concerts, theatre, and restaurants with family and friends. He also volunteers at a local food bank in West London and manages to fit in intermittent gym visits.

Board Member
Emily began her career in commercial real estate finance at BlackRock in New York City during the mid-2000s. She moved to the UK permanently in 2008 and transitioned into loan workout roles after the collapse of Lehman Brothers. Working first at HPI and later at Barclays Capital, she focused on distressed CRE debt for six years. In 2014, she returned to lending, joining Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG’s underwriting team. With nearly two decades of experience navigating financial challenges, Emily is a trusted expert in the CRE finance sector.
Away from work, Emily hones her negotiating skills at home, sparring with her two much older but increasingly opinionated daughters. These daily exercises keep her mentally fit and agile, all in preparation for the next downturn (or whatever financial storm might come her way).

Board Member
Keren is an asset management and investment professional with 14 years of experience in the financial industry. She is a Director in LendInvest’s Fund Management team, where she invests in bridging and development loans across the UK.
Before joining LendInvest in 2018, Keren worked at Clal Insurance and KPMG. She holds a BSc in Accounting & Business Administration, an MBA specialising in Financial Management, and is a Certified Public Accountant. Her expertise spans raising debt and equity, loan workouts, credit, due diligence, fund structuring, and process improvement.
Outside of work, Keren enjoys spending time with her family, exploring new cuisines, and travelling.

Head of Marketing
Katie is the Head of Marketing at The APL, where she oversees social media, email campaigns, events marketing, website management, and member engagement. With a focus on elevating APL's profile, Katie is committed to building a vibrant, connected community through innovative and effective marketing strategies.
Outside work, Katie enjoys country pursuits, walking her dogs in scenic surroundings, and spending quality time with her two daughters and family.

Board Member
Tamrynne is Senior Legal Counsel at Puma Property Finance, where she oversees all aspects of legal operations, including transaction execution, funding lines, and portfolio management. She began her career in Johannesburg, working in the commercial real estate practice at Bowmans, before moving to London in 2020 to join the real estate finance practice at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner. Her cross-jurisdictional experience has provided her with a strong foundation in both commercial real estate and real estate finance. Outside of work, Tamrynne enjoys spending time in nature, pursuing her passion for photography, and travelling.

Junior Board Member
Ryan attained a Masters in Real Estate Economics and Finance from the London School of Economics in 2022. Post-graduation, he Joined Wells Fargo's Commercial Real Estate Lending team in London where responsibilities range from Portfolio Management to Debt Origination across all assets sectors. Ryan enjoys travelling and playing football, with Liverpool FC being his favourite team.

Junior Board Member
Charlotte works in Real Estate Syndication at Investec, where she focuses on investment and development financing across the UK real estate market. She holds a BA in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from the University of Oxford and brings strong analytical insight to her work in real estate finance. Outside work, Charlotte enjoys travelling and has a strong interest in music and the arts.

Junior Board Member
Noah is an Associate in Lloyds Bank’s Real Estate Capital Markets and Syndicate team, where he works on the structuring and distribution of real estate finance transactions across a wide range of asset classes. His role supports origination and syndication activities across the capital structure, including senior, mezzanine, whole-loan, and back-leverage facilities. Prior to this, Noah gained experience working on structured solutions focused on distressed and special situations debt across EMEA and emerging markets. He holds an MSc in Finance and Banking from the University of Bath. Outside work, Noah enjoys playing a variety of musical instruments and sports. He is also an avid Formula 1 fan and enjoys exploring new food spots around the city.

Junior Board Member
Cormac is an Associate Director at First Abu Dhabi Bank, bringing five years of experience in real estate finance. In his role, he supports the structuring and execution of financing solutions across a range of real estate transactions. Originally from Dublin, Cormac moved to London in 2025 to further develop his career within the sector. He is a qualified accountant with a strong background in finance and lending. Outside work, Cormac enjoys travelling and is a keen follower of football and rugby. He also enjoys playing golf whenever he gets the chance.
